Our Story
Kyma Living was born from something deeply personal — not a business plan, but a feeling we couldn't ignore.
Since 1992, Crete has been part of our lives. What started as holidays slowly became something more. The island pulled us back again and again, until one day we didn't just visit anymore — we belonged there in a different way. A few years ago, we bought a small holiday home on the island we had come to love.
It was during that journey that we began to see something we hadn't noticed before.
In the towns, the property market felt layered and distant. The same homes listed again and again, different prices depending on who you spoke to, and buyers often left guessing who actually stood behind the sale. It all felt slightly removed from reality, as if the true connection between people had been replaced by layers of intermediaries.
But in the villages, life worked differently.
There, property doesn't always pass through systems or agencies. It moves quietly, from neighbour to neighbour, from friend to friend, from family to family. A house becomes known simply because someone says, "I think they might want to sell." And somehow, that is enough. Mouth to mouth. Human to human.
We were struck by it. And also by what it meant.
Because in that way of selling, there was honesty — but also limitation. Many people simply don't have the time, the tools, or the means to reach beyond their immediate circle. Not every home gets seen and not every seller gets a fair chance to reach the right buyer.
That stayed with us long after we left the island each time.
And slowly, the idea behind Kyma Living began to form.
We wanted to build something that bridges both worlds — the trust and simplicity of village life, and the reach and clarity of a modern marketplace. A place where a homeowner in a small Cretan village has the same visibility as a property listed through a major agency. Where opportunity is not determined by budget or connections, but by fairness and access.
So we built Kyma Living.
A simple, honest platform where private sellers in Crete can share their homes directly with (international) buyers — without unnecessary layers, without hidden costs, and without thousands in agent fees.
Because we believe something simple:
A home should be seen because it is right for someone — not because they can afford to market it.
Important to know
Kyma Living is not a real estate agency. We are not involved in negotiations, contracts or transactions. We simply provide the stage — sellers and buyers do the rest.
